SUBSTITUTE INFANT/PRESCHOOL/YOUNG TODDLER CARE GIVER

SUMMARY OF POSITION: Day-to-day caretaking and supervising of children in addition to implementing the program
activities for infant/young toddlers/preschool age children, 15-30 Hours per week
REPORTS TO: Carrollton Child Care Director and Lead Care Giver
QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential Skills:
1. Ability to cooperate with teachers, students and administration
2. Ability to keep all student and parent information confidential
3. Ability to keep a positive attitude in working with student, parents, other staff members, and community members who visit Carrollton Public
Schools facilities or programs
4. Ability and willingness to lead activity programs or children
5. Must be able to lift and restrain students when necessary
6. Shall be of good character with high moral and ethical values
7. To ensure a safe environment for students at all times
8. To meet and greet visitors in a positive, helpful manner
9. Other duties as assigned by the building principal/center director/lead caregiver
MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be Highly Qualified
a. Must possess an Associates Degree, or
b. Must have passed the Work Keys test or
c. Must possess 60 credit hours from a college or University
2. Child Development Associate credentials preferred
3. At least three years of experience working with infant/preschool/young toddler aged children
4. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pound
5. Excellent oral and written communications skills are required
6. Ability to work well with staff, parents and students
7. Must be willing to receive additional training to improve job skills
8. Be at least 19 years of age
9. Must satisfactorily pass:
a. Law enforcement background check with fingerprinting
b. Personal and professional reference background check
10. Must receive a satisfactory response to P.A. 189 letter (Misconduct letter)
11. Must possess or be willing to complete training to become Adult/Infant/CPR/First Aid Certified
